While adults enjoy time off or indulge in a spa session, children aged five to 12 can enjoy a full day of fun at the Cool Zone. Spanning 100 square metres over two storeys, the Cool Zone encompasses a Game Zone, Craft Zone and a Toots Club and is the largest children’s club provided by a hotel in Singapore.
The highlight of the Cool Zone is the giant tree house slide, which winds all the way down from level three of the resort into a pool of colourful balls on level one. Full-day children’s activity programmes that include lunch and dinner are available for registration.
There are at least 10 activities daily, which change every day. The little ones will be able to make new friends as they enjoy fun sessions of indoor musical games, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, mini putting, island tours, water polo and non-motorised water-sports equipment, such as kayaks and pedal boats.
Throughout the evening, there will be play time with the provided Wii and Xbox 360. The children also get to have fun with the Flying Trapeze - the first of its kind in Singapore - and try their hands at being acrobats. On Saturday nights, they are treated to live magic shows and balloon-sculpting activities.
The Mini Toots Club caters to children aged four and below who are accompanied by their guardians or parents.
The special features of this play area include a giant block puzzle, a carousel, coloured ball pits and baby rockers. There are plenty of story books and wooden toys in addition to movie screenings as well.
ACTIVITIES & EXCURSION
Sentosa Island offers many opportunities to explore the natural environment of Singapore. It gives you a sense of what life was like before the city developed into a sprawling modern metropolis.
In line with our commitment to biodiversity conservation, the group launched SANCTUARY, Shangri-La's Care for Nature Project.
Standing near the entrance of the resort is Singapore's largest tree, measuring 27 metres in height and 10.2 metres in girth. Recognised by Singapore's National Parks Board as a heritage tree, it is believed that British soldiers planted the Angsana tree in 1885, when they settled at Fort Siloso during the pre-war period.
A tree lightning conductor has been installed to protect the old tree, trees replanted to reinstate its natural habitat, and during the resort's large-scale renovation in 2010, efforts were made to avoid harm to the tree.
The 127-year-old tree continues to provide shade for guests along the leafy boulevard leading up to the resort's lobby, and the resort's gardeners carefully look after it.
You may begin your exploration with the Nature Walk, which is landscaped with plants representative of this tropical region. Bicycles are available for rental at the resort for easy travel around the rest of the island. Engage in a variety of beach activities, such as volleyball, soccer, frisbee, cricket, golf and tennis at Siloso Beach, Sentosa’s most popular lifestyle beach. Enquiries can be made at the Sea Sports Centre, which operates from 9am to 7pm daily.
Ready for some water sports? Sports enthusiasts can rent non-motorised water sports equipment, such as kayaks and paddle boats for some beach fun. Bicycles are available for those who wish to explore the island area outside of the resort. Equipment rental finishes at 6pm.
A playground with slides amid the resort’s landscaped gardens caters to children that are two to five years old. This provides a place for parents and their little ones who prefer having some fun under the sun to bond during the holidays. Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa offers a variety of recreational facilities within the resort and on Siloso Beach.
Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa is located on Siloso Beach, the most popular lifestyle beach on Sentosa. During the day, the beach is abuzz with activities and water sports. At night, it comes alive with buzzing beach bars and music.
The resort's 1.2-metre-deep swimming pool is one of the largest freeform pools in Singapore, and features two outdoor Jacuzzis. There is also a children’s pool with water slides and a splash pad for the enjoyment of our young guests.
As a green measure and to ensure guests’ comfort, all the swimming pools and outdoor Jacuzzis adopt a particle physics based water management system which maintains water in a natural and healthy form. This reduces chemical backwash and significantly minimises undesirable chlorine-related health side effects including dry skin and sore eyes.
The pool facilities are complemented by Siloso Beach Bar, which features a delightful soda fountain and ice cream bar. The 24-hour gym located at Level 5 of the resort is fully equipped with a variety of sports equipment for your workout. The gym features floor-to-ceiling windows so that guests can enjoy the refreshing view of the lush greenery while working out. The Flying Trapeze & Rock Wall
The Flying Trapeze on Siloso Beach lets you try your hand at being a flying acrobat, eight metres off the ground. With the assistance of a certified trapeze Instructor, try hanging upside down in mid-air or various other stunts if you are up for it. There is also a Rock Wall, suitable for the use of children, next to The Flying Trapeze.
The Flying Trapeze and Rock Wall will not operate in inclement weather. Both facilities are for guests above 4 years old, and are unsuitable for pregnant women and those with medical conditions.
