ACTIVITIES & EXCURSION
Charter one of our yachts and simply lose yourself on the horizon of your dreams. Whether your fantasy is to simply cruise around the atoll dropping anchor wherever the snorkeling takes your fancy, or the lure of your own chef setting up a seafood feast on the perfect sandbank or your own private island is more your cup of tea, there's no getting away from it: this is perfection in paradise. Choose from Rangali Raani for a traditional sailing yacht, or Rehendi for a super luxury cruiser. If the idea of playing Robinson Crusoe on a picture-perfect island appeals to you, then a deserted island trip is a 'must try'. Hop on board and you're soon dropped off at a deserted island, just the two of you. It's certainly a lot more luxurious than Crusoe's experience, though: a picnic table, chilled drinks and umbrella will be waiting for you. Your man Friday will even give you a mobile phone so you can call for someone to pick you up when you're done swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing and exploring the island. Keep an eye out for dolphins on the way over to the island. The Maldives is justifiably famous for the beauty of the underwater world. While our house reef is outstanding, nothing beats a trip to nearby coral reefs. Whether you choose snorkeling hopping or a snorkeling safari, the idea is the same: a local wooden boat, called a dhoni, will take you to some of the more spectacular reefs where you can snorkel to your heart's content. There's no obligation to be in the water all time either; the roof of the dhoni makes the perfect sunbathing spot to re-energize for your next dip. Meeting the locals always makes for an interesting story once you're home and there's no better way to do this than by visiting a local village. Several times a week, we'll guide you around various local islands for a slice of what real life is like. Excursions run to various islands and no matter where you dock, you'll be greeted by a gaggle of excited children! You may have the opportunity to see a traditional dhoni boat being built, or maybe pop in to see the local school. There's usually the opportunity to buy some souvenirs from local shops and traders to take back with you. Depending on which village you visit and the schedule of the islanders you may even find yourself being invited to take tea and taste Maldivian short eats (spicy snacks) with the Island Chief. Jump on board and see if you can reel in a big one: tuna, swordfish, wahoo, sailfish, sharks, marlin. Take a trip to experience Rangali's fabulous reefs and watch the underwater wildlife without getting your feet wet with this memorable trip on our glass-bottomed boat. A half day trip, this is perfect if you want to discover the Maldives. Hop from one island to another by speedboat. Take an awe-inspiring romantic cruise over the deep blue ocean on board our luxury cruiser 'Rehendhi'. As the sun sinks into the ocean in a glory of colours, our friendly crew members will serve champagne and chef's special canapés. It's moments like these that you'll remember for a lifetime. Conrad Maldives is the only place in the country where you can watch manta rays without getting wet. During the manta season (November until April) these remarkable creatures swim almost every night under the bridge between our two islands. Simply wander along the bridge any time after dark and the chances are that you will eventually be privileged to watch a passing manta as it swims and loops through the ocean below you.
If you're happy to get wet, during the manta season we also offer dives to the nearby Manta point which is a manta cleaning station about 10 minutes by boat from Rangali Island.
